We'll be upgrading to WebPac Pro in the next few months. As I'm doing
more development in Web OPAC 6LE will I lose any of that functionality or
development when we move to WebPac Pro. Specifically I'm thinking of New
Books lists, cover art, and RSS feeds using Perl or JS. Of course what
I'm asking is 'am I wasting my time developing for Web OPAC 6LE and then
have to re-develop for WebPac Pro.
Any insight or personal experience is greatly appreciated!
I think that your question can probably be answered by checking out the
list of preliminary enhancements on CSDirect. (And unless you plan on
purchasing the Feed Builder product, IMO you are not wasting your time on
anything you're doing with feeds or new book lists.)
And since requests for info about R2006 seem to be coming up a lot
lately...beta test sites have to agree to keep things
confidential. Insight and/or tales of personal experience with WebPAC Pro
or any other R2006 functionality *should be* hard to come by until R2006 is
in general release.
