- Subject: [IUG] OPAC Export options and call numbers
Since we've been waiting over a month on our "ASAP" helpdesk call to
Innovative (which has been sent to Software engineering), and would love
to have this solved before classes resume in August, I thought I'd send
this question to the brilliant and helpful collective wisdom of this list
in the hopes that someone might be able to help:
Our Web OPAC export options are Full, MARC, Procite & Endnote. We don't
use Brief, because the vast majority of our call numbers are only in item
records. Serial bib records all have call numbers, but for those that have
no attached items, no call number is exported from the OPAC. Examples:
Photography annual (Bib call# only)
http://coast.library.csulb.edu/search/t?SEARCH=photography+annual
Year book - American Society of Sanitary Engineering. (also has item-level
call#)
http://coast.library.csulb.edu/search/t?SEARCH=Year+book+-+American+Society+of+Sanitary+Engineering
Is this somehow related to the "XRECTYPE" option for Full records? If we
CAN export Bib-level call numbers if no item-level call # is available,
will it affect the export of serial records with call numbers in both
record types?
