[IUG] Re: Receipt printers for circulation

If you want quiet, then get some Star Micronics 400 or 600 series
Thermal Printers. Avoid the 200 series printers due to the inability to
print in graphics mode. If you ever decide to use the San Jose style
hold wrappers, then they will not work correctly with the 200 series
printers.
We have been well pleased with the 600 series printers and are using
them throughout our circ area and in hold processing stations in the
departments.

We are looking for new receipt printers, and hoping to find impact printers which are not extremely loud. Just purchased 3 Epson TMU220 printers which are so noisy that we are returning them.
