[IUG] Circactive Date
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
Using Release 2005:
We are wanting to do some data mining on our patron database, looking
for patrons who have had activity over the past two years. I think
because of the way our data is stored, this is not going to be easy,
especially with the various ways "activity" can be counted. From the
documentation I have read, the CIRCACTIVE Fixed field keeps track of the
last activity (check-outs, check-ins, renewals, holds, bookings). There
is also the wwwoption named UPDATECIRC which will update this field for
any authorized login. Right now, we have this option off but would like
to turn it on but I am wondering if that will make it even more
difficult to track. Here's the information we are looking for:
Patrons with activity, broken down into these categories:
* Patrons who have only accessed our databases (Web Management
Reports)
* Patrons who have checked out items (MilStat)
* Patrons who have only renewed items (MilStat)
* Patrons who have only placed holds (Web Management Reports)
* Patrons who have checked in items (?)
I believe I'm going to have to start from July 1 and keep track of these
things from now on in order to have accurate information, but I'm having
a tough time at reconciling the different numbers. Has anyone figured
out an easier way to do this and how to get at the data for accurate
information?
