Thank you so much Charles!

Hi, Deb! We do a couple of things:

Scenario A:

--use Create List to make tab-delimited output
--dump the tab-delimited text file on a separate server
--run the tab-delimited text through a parser program (written in perl)
--output of the program becomes a server-side include that we use in our
public website

Scenario B:

--use Create List to make tab-delimited output
--dump the tab-delimited text file on a separate server
--run the tab-delimited text through a parser program (written in perl)
--program inserts any new records into a database
--public website queries that database, displays any records added in
the last week, month, whatever

My hope is that both of these will be replaced by RSS Feedbuilder at
some point or another. I'd like to both offer an RSS feed directly to
users, and also have our public webserver take that same feed,
convert/format it nicely for the web, and display it as a regular old
web page.

We're already grabbing an XML bestseller feed from BookSense and using
it on web pages, for example:

http://www.mplib.org/bestsellershfiction.asp

I'm looking forward to the opportunity to use RSS feeds from our III
server in the same manner.

Thanks. I realize that, but if there's a way to do this now without the

add on, I'd like to know how to do it.

thanks again,

Hello,

When the full edition of 2006 is released, you will be able to due this through the Feed Builder add on. It will take any list created through create list and turn it into an RSS feed.

Hi,

We're a consortium and would like to create an RSS feed with a new books

list. Has anyone done this? If so, how did you do it?
What scripts did you write to pull the data from the III system?

Thanks
deb
