Hi,

Byron had a very nice hint of how to direct mobile users to the Airpac!

I've already included it on our site http://innopac.lib.kth.se/

Do you have more hints of how to make the airpac pages more readable?

Does anyone have a clue how to get statistics for the use of Airpac?

Would it be possible to insert some link on the pages that would send an
update to a counter ????

Any idea would be welcome!

Jamen,

I'll include my level of clarity regarding the question with my answers, as
some of the question points seem to not be "cause and effect."

|Using Release 2005:
|
|I would like to hear from those of you using AirPAC. We are
|re-designing our library website, making use of some of the
|current technology out there (css, xhtml, etc.). However,
|AirPac (which we recently got installed and I am testing) does
|not handle these screens very well

This is the least clear. Your library web site and catalog seem to be two
different sites -- http://www.library.nashville.org/ and
http://waldo.library.nashville.org/ -- so I'm not sure why changes to one
(the library web site) would be problematic for the other (the catalog,
specifically AirPAC). Are you saying you're trying to redesign the AirPAC
pages, too?

|and I'm trying to figure
|out how I'm going to provide a link to AirPac from the library
|pages without being too obtrusive.

This is the most clear to me. Point a PDA browser (or Opera in small screen
mode) to our catalog http://diamond.temple.edu/. At the top you should see a
link that says "Text-only Version" that you won't see when viewing with a
standard desktop browser. That link goes to our AirPAC (it's horribly slow
right now, but it does go there).

The reason it doesn't show up in regular browsers is it has a negative
absolute position (look at the source code...first div tag after the opening
body tag). Small screen devices can't handle that, so it shows up right at
the top.

We should probably change that link to read "Text/Small Screen Version" for
clarity.

I wish the system was
|smart enough to know that someone was connecting to the
|catalog via a PDA-type device and just automatically load AirPac.

Same here. Sounds like an enhancement request.

Byron
