- Subject: [IUG] HELP! ColdFusion and III API
Hello all,
I have seen examples in the archives for ASP and PHP code to access III
patron API
content, parse it out, etc. I am not a seasoned programmer, so even though I
understand a lot of the logic used in these scripts, I don't know how it
could be done in ColdFusion -- which is the application software we have
available.
There were a couple of old questions related to ColdFusion in the IUG
archives, but they were apparently never answered. I hope someone can help
me out today.
All I need is to use my CF application to check user-provided credentials
against the API for authentication. Assuming the patron is verified, THEN I
also need to extract the patron's PTYPE and PCODE field values to use in
later parts of the process for statistical reasons.
Can anyone out there offer some technical hand-holding? I am used to
accessing databases with established datasources in CFM, but not the API so
I'm stuck at that part as well.
Thanks,
