RE: [IUG] Copy vs. Reset

This is a great feature that lets you run reports and write the data to the vendor records. It does not change the financials on the system, but how they look in the vendor records.

The reason why you would want to reset all vendors to zero is so the data you then see in the vendor records (especially if you are searching via create lists) is reflective of the current data. By resetting the data, you clear out all the data in the vendor record that would have shown up the last time you copied data from the vendor reports to the vendor records.

The process of copying data from the reports will only copy those vendor records that you are working on at that time. This is just a way to clean the slate before you get started. Since this pulls data from order records, these can be run and rerun time and time again.

Hope this makes sense!?! Not sure myself.

Subject: [IUG] Copy vs. Reset

Can someone please explain the difference between COPY TO VENDORS and RESET ALL VENDORS to me? After running the vendor activity report, which of these options should be used if we want to maintain vendor activity records for the fiscal year only?

We've read and re-read Page # 105544 of the manual, but it only served to confuse us more.

Thank you in advance.
