We recently converted to the Millennium system and chose to rotate to
provide better access to resources from an OPAC point of view. We are a
consortium of Public Libraries so this was of primary concern for us.
The draw back is that the rotation also occurs in the cataloguing view
of Millennium cataloguing module. The Cataloguing Team are considering
asking for an enhancement to allow the non rotation of subject headings
in the Cataloguing module.

We had several meetings with OPAC, Cataloguing, Reference and customer
groups' people, when coming to this decision, and so far we are happy
with the decision to rotate.

Subject: [IUG] To Rotate Subject Headings or Not? What is your
institutiondoing?

I wanted to ask you all about your subject headings displays. We have
had several debates about this topic at our institution. So here goes...

Do you rotate them? Why or why not?

Who was involved with the decision? Public Services, cataloging,
other?

Thanks!
