There is a feature in Acquisitions that might work for you.  I think that people have hit the nail on the head that if an adjustment is made in the account balances (appropriation, expenditure or encumbrance), there is no record in the system and therefore no way to find it with Create Lists.  Having the current balances in the fund reports is good, but it does not tell you how you got there.
 
If you look at Set System Options in the character-based system, there is an option called: 
 
Fund Activity report shows YTD appro history........................YES/NO
(see user manual page # 103066 - It is under Acquisition Options and your numbering may vary - See also Page # 101973) 
 
If this is set to yes, then the fund activity reports will always show all the appropriations (which would include an original appropriation, subsequent appropriations, and reductions from a fund, shown as a negative appropriation).  It will be on a fund by fund basis, so it will not total per se.  However, it will tell you how the appropriation value got that way.  
 
This may not do what you are looking for.  If you are looking for just a difference (new money appropriated after the start of the fiscal year, for example), you could compare the appropriation values at the beginning and current points in the year).  Last year at Toledo, I appropriated money to a reserve fund, so the totals of what was appropriated would stay the same all year long even though I was holding back a bit of money.

Hello IGU -

I need to create a report on all dollars added to funds in 2006, by fund.

I tried the usual fund - find - expression - value report (as in page
100656) but there is no criteria for new appropriations. Since there
is no fund record type, create list and statistics won't work, right?

Is there a way to produce such a report?  I would hate to resort to
scrolling through the fund activity report and noting all of the
"approp"  entries.
