This has historical roots. Back in the old days when the server has a
system printer attached to it, the big clunky kind, the network card had
to be configured to be 10 mb and half duplex. The upgrade to 100 is
only possible if you do not have the system printer attached to the
server.

Concerning the speed of Millenium loading:
After being on Millenium for 2 years, our IT guy called me and
said, "Do you know that the III server is set to 10 Mb/half duplex? Our
network can handle much higher speeds." I called III, they set the
server speed to 100Mb/full duplex, and our Millenium system speeded up
dramatically. Greatly reduced the number of freeze-ups, too.
Maybe you could call the III Help Desk and get similar help.
