One reason for the large errors only is that the inventory
system arranges by barcode number not by call number.
Thus, almost everything is mis-shelved. We have about
given up on using the inventory system. One other reason
is the number of steps to download to get the report, this
is far to time consuming for a one person media center and
because the hand held scanner will freeze if you happen to
have something way out of place like a 900 dewey mixed in
with the 300's. It just throws the whole scan off
even though the system reads barcode order. We therefore
scan a small section at a time. We tried very had to work
with the inventory people to make it work to meet
our needs but nothing has changed since we have been on the
system, several years. Not enough people needing
enhancements, I guess. Diane
