Should be pretty easy to do. if you have Advanced Systems and Access Admin training, you can edit the Request Rules yourself and block those records based on a fixed field in the bib record. You just want to make sure that you use a distinct Material Type for these because it could block other resources that could have holds and use the same code.

For more information, you can see page 105816 in the manual or go to this page on CSDirect:

http://csdirect.iii.com/manual_2005LE/gmasaa_requestrl.html <http://csdirect.iii.com/manual_2005LE/gmasaa_requestrl.html>

If you do not have ASAA training, then contact the helpdesk and they can take care of this for you. The users manual page is good even if you do not have the training because it gives you a sense of the wide variety of things that can be done to fine tune the system.

Hope this helps

Subject: [IUG] Bib Level Holds on Electronic Resources

Hello all,

We keep bib records for our downloadable audio books. These
Bibs have no Items attached. We also allow holds on empty bib records
for new books. So what I am wondering is, is it possible to block holds
on bibs based on the bib material type?

Thanks,
