The first thing I'd look at is using, though you may well have tried it, the
css media tag for handheld to hide certain elements and scale others, eg:

<LINK rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"
media="handheld" href="iiihandheld.css">

See here for more info:

http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-CSS2/media.html

Alternately, you could test for certain browser types and use javascript to
turn off/on certain html elements by ID or css class.

Sorry I can't be more help,

- adam

Subject: Re: [IUG] Use of PHP scripts/pages in INNOPAC

Hi

What we are actually trying to do is set up pages such as the patron
authentication page (pverify2_web.html) so that when someone accesses
the page with a wireless device, that a script runs and changes the look
of the page so that it fits on the screen of a wireless device more
effectively. We are thinking that the ILL introductory screens might be
able to run this script as well. Maybe we will have to see about using
javascript, but I don't know if this this would work or not.. It is
basically an auto-detect process as I understand it from our
programmer. We have changed our many of our main library pages that
aren't on the INNOPAC server to php pages.

We have airpac and this works fine, but sometimes Blackberry devices in
particular don't create the page like other PDAs do They move the top
and bottom logos around and have other challenges.

If you have had any success making other screens work well for wireless
devices, I would be interested to hear from you.
