Hi. Rather than call the help desk I'm going to <gulp> send this out to
the list.</gulp>. I have my staging port open for the short term and am
wondering if anyone could help me with aspects of the toplogo.html file.
In our current live webpac we have a longish image banner within the
toplogo file that causes users to have to scroll right if screen
resolution is small enough - like 800 X 600 or less - ugh.
On our staging server (
http://library.cwu.edu:2082/) I have essentially
commented out the text of my toplogo file and have replaced it with a call
to my style sheet (catalog.css) in the body command:
body {
margin-top:97px;
font-size: 80%;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
background : #ffffff;
background-image:url(/screens/cattrax_photo_banner.jpg);
background-repeat:no-repeat;
}
I have checked the screen rendering in Browsercam
(
http://www.browsercam.com), a subscription service that we use here at
CWU to check how our pages look on various operating systems and across
browsers. Everything appears to be ok as far as I can tell.
While setting an image in the body command is, to my knowledge, valid in
html, I'm wondering if any of you can forsee any problems I may encounter
by the toplogo.html file essentially not being called in the srchhelp
screens, etc. I can't find any screens either by manually testing or via
Browsercam that don't function properly. Do those of you more
knowledgeable than I at this stuff know if I could have problems with
this? Thanks for any help.
