We purchased a Zebra LP 2844 printer for our library. We thought it would be ideal since the printer is fairly small, has good quality print, and is very quiet. We found that we could print beautiful spine labels through Microsoft Word, WordPad, and even Notepad. The one thing we could not do was print labels directly from Millennium. We even had the Innovative tech support people working with us and they could not get this printer to work with Millennium.

If you don't mind copying and pasting from Millennium into a word processor then you will probably be satisfied with the Zebra LP 2844. However, if you want to print directly from Millennium I would not recommend it.

Does anybody have experience with the Zebra LP 2844-Z thermal/ribbon label printer to share? Seems like that somewhat more expensive system (avail. from Gaylord) may produce labels that are more fade-resistant.

You may want to keep an eye on the new labels you print to watch for
fading. I was talking with others in our consortium regarding just this
type of printer. I was excited until it was mention that there is a
fading issue.
