We had also experienced the failure of the 863-865 fields subfields a, b, and z displaying in the Web OPAC with the 2005 release. The patch did work except for the display of the public note (subfield z), as indicated in Becky's message. Mike--I suspect that the reason why your note in 863 |z displays is that your system is not on 2005 Release. The 2005 Release adds an extra space after the hyphen in closed holdings, for example,
v.2:no.1 (Mar. 2001)- v.4:no.2 (Sept. 2003), instead of
v.2:no.1 (Mar. 2001)-v.4:no.2 (Sept. 2003)
I noticed that both Becky's and our catalogs show the extra space but yours doesn't. I could be wrong about the version of your system and I really hope I am wrong because that would mean you've gotten the right version of the release and we'll just need to ask for a patch or something.
I have also asked our liaison to ask III HelpDesk to restore the Web display of the public note and hope it'll get resolved soon.
Other holdings display problems we encountered with the 2005 release are:
1. When the months are combined, for example, 863 ... |j01/02, only the 1st month is displayed on the Web (Jan.) and not both (Jan./Feb.).
2. When a holdings statement in the textual field 866/867/868 is too long, the complete record (including the bib., checkin record, item records) displays only partially on the Web, and sometimes only the title appears. Workaround: Separate the long 866 into multiple 866s. However,... (see 3.)
3. Web display of multiple 866s may be out of sequence in terms of enumeration or chronology even though the order is fine in the checkin record and under the holding tab. Workaround--Add subfield 8 to each 866 to ensure the order is right. For example,
|81|av.68:no.41(1999:Oct. 2)-v.68:no.42(1999:Oct. 9),....
|82|av.69:no.12(2000:Mar. 26),....
|83|av.70:no.16(2001:Apr. 27),....
4. The punctuation for the non-gap break (i.e., |w n) should be a semicolon on the Web display but it's a comma now.
Another thing we notice with the 2005 release is that after someone updates the holdings, the other people won't be able to see the change in the staff mode unless they logout of Millennium and log back in again. This seems to occur in other record types too. Hopefully a patch or a fix will be available soon too.
Although the 2005 release has some setbacks with holdings, it surely enhanced the functionalities in ERM and allows us to implement it without hesitation.

We are on 2005LE and we believe these subfields are all displaying on our system.

Subject: Release 2005 and Serial Holdings Display in the Web OPAC
Our library is currently using the MFHD system within Millennium Serials. With
the recent installation of Release 2005, we have experienced the failure of the
863 field subfields a, b, and z displaying in the Web OPAC. III installed a
patch that fixed the display of subfield a and b, but not z, which is especially
troublesome because it is the public display note. III has informed us that
this issue is under investigation by their Software Engineering department, but
does not have a definite timetable as to when a fix will be available. I would
like to hear from other III libraries that have experienced these same problems.
How are you handling the failure of the public note displaying in the OPAC?
Are you using another field in the check-in record to display this information
until III gets this fixed? Thanks in advance for your help,
