I have just notified Innovative that we will purchase their EDIFACT
functionality. I have to admit that I also asked why we had to pay for
something that is, in essence, an upgrade. The answer, per my
paraphrasing, is that this is additional functionality and that our
BISAC functionality will continue to work, so Innovative is providing
this "extra." It was also said to me that we are "between a rock and a
hard place," but it's the BISAC Board that's decided not to upgrade to
accommodate the 13-digit ISBN, so I guess we're essentially stuck.
Alternately, we could stop electronic ordering, but that doesn't seem
practical, somehow.
