This is an interesting topic, but perhaps better served by another
discussion list, such as PUBLIB. Unless there is an Innovative solution.

That's very clear. I guess we would call them Quick Information Kiosks.
I have seen them tried before and it depends on the physical setup of
the library. I n a large space they would be ideal. In a smaller area,
patrons might confuse them with regular service desks. There is also the

"being given the runaround" problem. Patrons seem to ant answers
whherever they ask not referrals. But it is a changing world and maybe
they would accept it. I think each Kiosk should have at least call #
lookup facilities as well as generic directions, etc. Nothing indepth or

it may as well be a info/ref desk.
