III LDAP product in consortia

Has anyone deployed the III External Patron Verification product in a
consortial environment? According to the FAQ the product supports only a
single LDAP server but by using Perl scripts can be made to work across
multiple servers. I'd like to chat off-list with someone who has
actually done this as I have a few technical questions. 

We're a consortia of three university libraries sharing a single
Millennium server. Each of our campuses is moving toward LDAP
authentication and I'm trying to determine how feasible it would be to
integrate our Millennium server with all three campus authentication
setups.
