Betty - Our setup for sending email notices is simplified by the fact
that we have our own isp for our stu/fac/stf community. So everyone has
an email address. If they choose to have a commercial email account they
can forward their mail from the University to that account. If their
mail bounces back to us, I print and mail their notice with a small,
polite "clean up your act" blurb inserted. Our community borrowers are
not required to have email accounts. If we need to send them notices we
print and mail them. We don't use autonotice because of that. We are a
small private University however, and what works for us may not
necessarily work for you. It may, however, for someone else.

Of making many books there is no end,
and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
