Dear Innopackers,
We're having a problem with very slow transmission of pdf's through
our proxy server (proxy rewrite method). Where the transfer rate on direct
download is anything from 245k/sec. up to 900k/sec., when transferring
pdf's through the proxy server, the transfer rate starts around 35-40
k/sec., and descends from there, usually to the range of 7-9k/sec., but in
a test I did just now it descended all the way to "1020 bytes per second"
at the end of the transfer. We notice the problem usually with Hein
Online, but that's probably because it's the most heavily used source. I
tested with Cambridge, with the same result. My machine seems to be a bit
faster than those on other floors, but not always, and not all that much.
The problem seemed to be better for a while, and is now worse again. If
anyone can help me see what is going on, I'd be very appreciative.
Thank you,
Tom Baker
