Patron Renewal problems?

Does anyone know if the following is still a problem for patron renewals? Some of our patrons are having trouble renewing and was wondering if the cause might be the one specified in the following 8/17/04 e-mail?:

Does anyone have a specific answer for what features must be not blocked
by a personal firewall product to allow online patron renewals?
Innovative has had an open call for us for about six months and since
the city doesn't own any of the products I have been unable to test it
Symptom: Patron clicks renew while in their account which results in a
restart and no renewal taking place. Patrons possibly not even
realizing that it didn't renew.
Cause: Personal Firewall and security center products (Nortons, McAfee,
and others (I know of 11 different products and expect XP SP2 to be
