Katrina: Request info for distribution agencies
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
My apologies for cross-posting of this message.
I wanted to ask if anyone out there knew of any library organizations
that were acting as distribution centers for donations to shelters. I'm
trying to get together an effort here in Scottsdale to collect books,
magazines, coloring books, small toys, pack them into reusable tubs (a sort
of "library-in-a-box"), and get them sent off to shelters so that folks have
something to do in between filling out paperwork and standing in line.
There's a donation area in Phoenix for the folks staying at Veterans
Memorial, and I've made contact with 911 Cares http://www.911cares.com/
<http://www.911cares.com/> ) in California. But I was hoping that there
were library associations out there doing something similar. Let me know.
Thanks.
