Well, this is the way it is supposed to be. It is because not all names
used as authors are also used as subjects, and you really don't want/need
all those blind references anyway.
I think it's really unfortunate the way that the system handles blind
references. It would be wonderful if the system were able to either
suppress the display of blind authorities dynamically, but that's
unlikely to happen. But another approach would be an overnight batch
process. When we scope authority records, authorities don't display if
they are blind within that scope. What we want to see is authorities
not display if they are blind for the "scope" of entire collection.
