Saginaw Valley State University's Melvin J. Zahnow Library (http://www.svsu.edu/library) invites applications for the position of Electronic Resources and Reference Librarian.

Saginaw Valley State University (http://www.svsu.edu) is a comprehensive, co-educational, four-year, state-supported university offering bachelor's and master's degrees with a student body of more then 9,000. The campus is located on M-84 within a triangle formed by Bay City, Midland and Saginaw.

Electronic Resources & Reference Librarian (Full-time): Provides leadership role in investigating, selecting and managing electronic resources; serves as primary technical contact with vendors; utilizes link-resolver software to manage databases and electronic subscriptions; provides reference desk assistance and library instruction. Additional responsibilities include collection development and participation in professional and university activities. Schedule includes evenings and weekends in rotation with other reference librarians. Qualifications: Required: Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program; commitment to working collegially with librarians, faculty and others; excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; must be able to work evenings and weekends. Preferred: 1-2 years experience working at a public service desk in an academic library; experience with databases and electronic serials; experience with link resolvers and linking standards. Salary/Benefits: Mid-$30's depending on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits including vacation, sick leave and TIAA-CREF retirement.

Reference Librarian (Part-time): 25 hours/week for 9 months (mid-August through mid-May). Responsibilities include providing reference desk assistance; library instruction; collection development; participation in professional and university activities; other duties as assigned. Schedule includes evenings and weekends in rotation with other reference librarians. Qualifications: Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program; commitment to working collegially with librarians, faculty and others; excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; must be able to work evenings and weekends. Preferred: 1-2 years experience working at a public service desk in an academic library. Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience.
