Single sign-on to search catalog

We would like to arrange a sign-on page in front of our mainmenu screen, so that when people access our online catalog they will have to sign in as a guest or as a card-holder.  That way, they don't have to enter their authentication information each time they want to place a hold, check their record, download an audio book, or access the subscription databases.

Has any library set this up on Millennium (we upgrade to Millennium 2005 this week)?  We do have WAM (which I am learning to use) and API (which we use with our reservation/printing software).  I'm under a massive time restraint, as our target date for having this single sign-on running is October 1.
