We recently eliminated separate pages for on and off campus users. Our
databases pages now have an ASP script (that I obtained from another
helpful list member) which checks if users are on or off campus (by
looking at their IP address). The script then sends the user to the
appropriate URL. To see the script in action, go to
http://library.edgewood.edu/databases.htm
If you're interested, I'd be glad to send you a copy of the ASP script
we're using. Just let me know.
By the way, our library does have a limited number of catalog user
licenses (which is why we're using the script). If your library has
unlimited user licenses sending all database requests through the proxy
should work.
