proxy server

Hello Everyone, 

 

I'm trying to update and ultimately redo our proxy server database URLs. 

 

1) Update. I tried to update our proxy server link for KluwerOnline (since it
changed to SpringerLink), and I thought I was following the directions from
Page 105906, but something has gone terribly wrong. Now it will not even go
to the patron verification screen. I have to change some others and I cannot
seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. :-( Can anyone help me?

 

2) Redo. My second question runs right from the first. Right now we have it
set up so that someone has to go to an Off-Campus Access to Databases
<http://www.uamont.edu/library/offcampus.htm>  page to see the databases that
are accessible from off-campus. However, I've noticed that some libraries
have their proxy server set up so that the off-campus patron arrives right at
the patron verification screen when they click on the database. I think that
our set-up is clunky and that the others are cool (like Portland Community
College <http://www.pcc.edu/library/>  for example). How does one do that?

 

If there are any reasonably simple answers to these questions, I'd appreciate
