Thanks to those who responded. I just wanted to apologize for asking for
help too soon -- it was right under my nose and there was nothing wrong with
it to begin with.
I-I-I am burned out :-< ....

Subject: Author/Title search question

Hi all,
When doing an author/title search in our catalog -- both in the live and
staging areas-- I get a message in the search results page at the top that
says:
"Your limiting title was not found and was therefore not used"
Upon analyzing the results I get after performing a search, I found that I
just get an author browse list, which is identical to just doing a plain
author search; in other words, the script completely ignores the title input
field...
I went to other OPACs to compare, and surprisingly, many of them have the
same problem. I've looked at their source codes on both pre and post form
submission screens, and the variations between theirs and ours are
meaningless.

One exception to this issue was http://medcat.med.nyu.edu/search/q
<http://medcat.med.nyu.edu/search/q> . When you do an A/T search on Medcat
for author=Cook and title=Coma, you go straight to the bib record, which is
what should happen. Applying medcat's html form code to ours didn't help.
There's a short thread about this in the list
archives(http://innovativeusers.org/list/archives/2004/msg03574.html
<http://innovativeusers.org/list/archives/2004/msg03574.html> ) which says
it was a known bug with Silver, but we're running 2005 LE. Wouldn't this
have been fixed by now? There's no point in offering an author/title search
if it'll really be just an author search.

Does anyone have insight they might share?

Thanks in advance for your help!
