POSITION: Director I
DEPARTMENT: Educational Resources Center
JOB SUMMARY: Provides leadership and management, and maintains accountability for Educational Resources Center operations. Supervises staff and/or supervisors by assigning and delegating tasks, providing direction, resolving work problems, communicating job expectations, training employees, and developing professional growth development opportunities. Conducts annual employee evaluations, and recommends pay increases, promotions and other personnel actions. Approves leaves and authorizes overtime as appropriate. Participates in employee selection process. Administers disciplinary actions upon approval, and in collaboration with Human Resources. Carries out, explains, interprets and enforces policy, and maintains responsibility for administering and managing department budget. Manages and prepares short and long-range plans for the Educational Resource Center in support of College goals and objectives, and establishes operating procedures for the Center and its users. Directs and assists in the preparation of specifications for the purchase of equipment and other capital expenditures for the Educational Resource Center. Maintains liaison with academic divisions and College departments regarding matters relating to educational support services, and with other colleges, universities, public libraries, and agencies regarding support services. Performs other related duties as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Minimum qualifications for this position are: Master's Degree in Library Science or closely related field, with 5 to 7 years progressively responsible experience working in all areas of a library. HOURS/SALARY: This is a FT position. Hours: 8a-5p, Monday-Friday Pay Grade MC - $67,143
