If Milstats are your white whale, then call me Corey.

I can only think of two ideas. First, could it be that the fiscal year that is setup in your system is not currently the same as your real fiscal year. You can call the helpdesk and ask them what the setting is.

Second, if you used adjust fund balances for the serials funds during the course of that fiscal year, this will not show up in these reports. The fiscal reports are just balance ledger values that reflect the order records and any manual adjustments made to the system. Milstats will not take that into consideration any adjustments and will only look at the data that is in the paid fields. This might not be an issue, but it is conceivable.

Not sure if either of these will work, but I hope it helps.

Best -- Corey

Subject: Milstats and differing fund reports

Hello - I am thoroughly confused!!

I have run a field stats report in Millstats, based on a review file of
current serials with the following criteria:

Query type: field stats
Report on: Order records
Split multi: Yes (by copies)
Limit by time: Yes
Use paid dates
Time resolution: Yearly
Year type: Use Fiscal Year
Year selection: Select one year
Year: 2001

I have run the report several times to get a picture of the expenditure
on a certain fund over the past 5 years. Trouble is, according to the
fund report, the expenditure for last FY was about half of what my
fiscal close reports report.

We only recently had our fiscal year defined in the system (last
summer). Would this account for the discrepancies? Why does the
Millstat fund report state that we spent only $2592.51 in FY 04/05, and
the fiscal close reports that over $4000 was spent on this particular
fund?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Millennium Statistics is my
white whale!

Thanks very much,
