- Subject: RE: Query: Inventory Plans
We have just completed an inventory of the entire circulating
collection. It was started three years ago and I don't remember any
plan or cost analysis. If you want to contact me off the list, I can
give you contact information for the Head of Access Services in case she
remembers something that I do not.
What I remember is this:
1) We put together a cost proposal for the barcode scanners and the III
software.
2) We did not hire extra staff, the students who shelve books worked on
inventory when all of the shelving had been completed for the day.
3) We started at A and worked through to Z.
We are now about to start a second time through the collection. The
first inventory cleaned up a lot of problems such as things that were
mislabeled or misshelved.

Hello,
Is there anyone on the list who has led a
comprehensive library collection inventory within the
last several years using the Innovative inventory
software?
I'm particularly interested in anyone who might share
their actual written plan/strategy including any cost
analysis they did prior to implementation of the
inventory.
Thanks in advance for any insight or assistance,
Best regards,
Ed Garten
