it's a wwwoption (MODIFY_PFLDS), and you can turn on and off a few fields
'a' (ADDRESS), 'h' (ADDRESS2), 't' (TELEPHONE), 'p' (TELEPHONE2), and 'z'
(EMAIL ADDR) fields
There's a separate wwwoption for type of notice (PATRON_NOTICES). See
manual page #105833 for more info. I don't know of a way to allow them to
change their name -- but then, I'm not a guru!
We only allow them to update email address and phone. We require them to
show ID when they register, so we get the right address info (we hope), and
we don't want them changing that.

Subject: Patrons changing personal information vs. regional coding
information
Dear III listserve,
I would like to turn on the feature where patrons can change their
personal information. Our circulation manager is agreeing to this on 2
counts:
1) Patrons will only be able to change their name, address and phone
options; and,
2) How will the geographic place codes be updated?
Are there any Circulation gurus out there that can share with me what
their library does if they allow patron self-updating?
Much thanks, Michelle
