RE: Changing fund name - when to do it

Is this a change in the actual fund code, or the name you attach to the
fund code?  In any case, I would change either the fund code or the name
after the fiscal close.  If this is for the purpose of changing the fund
name for reports, this can be done fairly simply without any need to
change the fund code.  You can go in to Fund file maintenance and just
change the name of the fund for that code.  

However, if you need to create a new fund code for the new fund name,
you will have to not only create a new fund code, but you'll have to
take any order records that have the old fund code on them, and change
the fund code in the order records (one by one) to the new fund code.
It is best to do this before paying any invoices in the new fiscal year.

We're about to do a Method 1 fiscal close on Millennium Acquisitions.

We need to change one of our fund names for the next fiscal year.  The 
fund code will then represent an entirely different collection.

Should this be done prior to fiscal close, or after it?

Can't find anything in manual on this.
