Hi
You can create your own itypes and locations as far as I know.
We only have a location code. and we added a mat type code. We don't
use item records as they don't go out. I use our standard batch load,
but I do have to modify the 856 if you have purchased records such as
from netLibrary. Depending on what you have done with netLibrary,
Innovative has a special load set up for them that will also create
order records as well.

Online resources require special treatment in a number of ways. If you
are referring to ebooks, for example:
-- III needs to create a special item type for ebooks.
-- What about location codes? Again, III needs to create a special
location code for them. -- Item records? Not necessary. Patrons
click on the link in the 856 field for access. However, our practice
is to count each ebook title as one item statistics.
-- If you batch load bib records for ebooks you may need a separate
load profile. There is one for netlibrary but it is not included in
the basic set of load profiles that come with your system.
The list above only describes how we handle ebooks. It is not
definitive or complete.
