Access Services Librarian, University of Denver, Penrose Library, Denver,
Colorado
Salary range: Minimum of $47,000
This faculty position is responsible for the management of
access policies and services and reports to the Dean and Director of
Penrose Library.
Job Summary
Supervises department heads of Circulation/Reserve and Interlibrary Loan.
Responsible for the support, training, and staff development for the
application of information technologies in the access units. This
responsibility also includes loan modules of the integrated library
system, ILLiad, e-reserves, and relevant areas of the library's web site.
Responsible for project management related to access services,
technologies, and space planning. This position will manage and implement
access services policies, including copyright issues. Serves in a
leadership role as Facilitator of the Access Team, and serves as a member
of the library's Policy Council. Engages in scholarly activities through
research and publication. Participates in national and regional
professional organizations. Serves on library and campus committees.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an academic library; experience administering a library
service unit; experience with Innovative Interfaces, Inc. integrated library system.
Minimum Qualifications
ALA-accredited MLS degree and at least two years of supervisory experience
in some aspect of library access services.
Required Qualifications
Personnel management and training experience. Project management experience.
Information technology skills and experience appropriate for the position;
strong knowledge of emerging technologies in access services; demonstrated
ability to work collaboratively with other library units and teams;
evidence of effective oral and written communication. Commitment to
professional development and scholarly activities through research,
publication, and service to national and regional professional
organizations.
