- Subject: Loan Rule - Absolute date
We are looking at the possibility of changing our loan rules so that our
faculty will have an absolute due date of Aug 31 (I suppose it would be
Aug 30 in leap years). One of the things that we are looking at is if we
can include in our loan rule that if an item is checked out within a
certain number of days before the set date that the due date will be the
same day the following year. For example, if the due date is Aug 31,
2005 and a faculty member checks out an item on July 5, 2005, the due
date would not be Aug 31, 2005, but would be Aug 31, 2006. I can see how
this might be done in renewal, but not for the initial check out. And,
for that matter, I am not absolutely sure that it will work in renewal.
I need to figure this out fairly quickly, so I am hoping that someone in
this group knows if this is possible.
Thanks,
Betty Dong
