Linda -- There are a few things to check. I assume that you are doing this in Millennium, so I will craft my answers accordingly.

You might want to check the manual on page #104056 or http://csdirect.iii.com/manual_silver/gmil_print.html on CSDirect (you will need your CSDirect password). You can also see Page # 105034 in regards to printers associated with a login.

Does printing work for other modes within that module (if you are in cataloging, does it work for printing a viewed record)? If it does not print, then maybe there is a problem with the printers that are associated with that particular login.

Each Millennium login needs printers associated with it. The email printer needs to be selected for each login. Since there are four different types of printers under Millennium (standard, label, form, receipt), you will see what is being use by the mouse over or the right click. Then go to File & Select Printer to choose the correct one. I have had problems where I have selected the wrong printer for the particular task. They can be changed at anytime.

Other questions to ask:
If it is a local printer issue, can you print from other Windows programs?
If it is a system printer issue, can you print from telnet?

If you find that there are printers setup and that it works with other parts of the module, you might want to call the helpdesk. Please let them know what login you are using (so they can check printers) and where you are printing from.

We pay a good deal of money each year for support and maintenance and we should not feel shy about reporting things that might be caused by the way that our system is setup. If it is an easy fix, they should be able to take care of it right away. I hate when I call the helpdesk with an easy question that I just forgot about...but it happens. I would hate to think that we have to use this resource sparingly, especially with problems related to printing.

We were going to redo and update the printing FAQ on the IUG website and place it in the Clearinghouse. That is a project for the summer and hopefully we will start before the leaves turn colors!

Hope this helps.

Best -- Corey

We have found that we cannot e-mail or print lists that have been made
in "create lists" or records created in the catalog mode. Do any of you
have any suggestions? We are baffled because apparently we should be
able to do printouts for both procedures..
