Can anyone tell me why we should even bother to input correct filing indicators like:
245 10 A is for apple
if our system completely ignores this to treat "a" as a leading article? (And if you DON'T include "a" in your leading article table, well, you know what happens. You can't have it both ways.)
Am I totally naïve to feel that systems should be able to work with MARC filing indicators?

In "OPAC Options", you can add specific leading articles to skip, but
this causes problems with titles beginning with English words (or place
names) that are the same as foreign language articles (such as "die").
We asked the III Help Desk about this last year, and the response we got
was that this is just the way things work.
Does anyone know of a more workable solution?
