An update to all and an answer to Jim. First, thank you for the
suggestions on fixing my search, but alas, those didn't work. What I
ended up doing was copying the keyword search widget from one of the
internal pages to the library home page. The AVS keyword searching uses
javascript. That seemed to do the trick.
As for Jim's question, yes, we too are having truncated keyword search
problems and have an open call on it. It seems strange that a search for
"tutan**" yields nothing, but a search on "tut**" yields hits for King
Tut and Tutankhamen.
In addition to getting "No hits" results for the searches he mentions
below, we are also getting "No hits" for the infamous "wom?n" search
although we can search "woman OR women" and get many results.
Anyone else seeing these kinds of results? We're on Silver.

Can you do the following keyword searches in your catalog please:
tutan** and cath**
I don't mean to bother the whole list, but I've got this perception that
there may be something wrong with keyword searching that's beyond just
my catalog.
Thanks

Subject: wrinkle in home page search box
We have been using a "Search the Catalog" option on our library's home
page for quite awhile but have only just discovered a Keyword search
problem that I can't quite figure out.
From our home page, http://www.rodmanlibrary.com do a keyword search
for "neck pain" without the quotes. The hits number 181. If you click
the next page button, it shows "Keywords 13-24 of 181" but, there are NO
results shown and the same for subsequent pages.
If the same search is done from the catalog's main menu,
http://roc.rodmanlibrary.com or any of the search widgets within the
catalog, then there are only 7 hits and all display.
The problem only occurs with the keyword search. We are using the "Y"
search. I suspect this may be the culprit.
