Tucker -- If I'm thinking of the right thing, you can actually ask the help
desk to change something so that items automatically go in transit if they
are checked in at the wrong location, however the change is system-wide and
will cause a transit slip to be automatically printed. That doesn't sound
like it will work for you. If I remember correctly, new functionality it
coming in 2005 that will add a little more flexibility to this setting.

Subject: check in at a location not served

I had a question about the locations served table and check in. Does it
always give you the choice to check things in when your login does not
list the item record's location as one of the ones served by your login
in the location's served table. We have a multi-campus environment, and
some campuses will need to check in each other's books, while others
will not. I can't find any way to limit the check in of an item in a
location that is not served by login or terminal. Am I missing
something?
