experience. This is a year-to-year appointment that may be renewed
annually up to 4 years depending on university needs.

Job Summary
Serves as the source of technical support for various integrated teams
of professionals dedicated to providing high quality library services.
Provides website design and support for the Library. Works relatively
independently and with minimal technical oversight. Designs, develops,
maintains, integrates, and revises web applications such as databases
and other web based forms and reports in support of library services and
operations. Provides technical advice and hands-on support in
integrating, troubleshooting, and resolving various purchased or
licensed software, including resolving authentication issues and
ensuring smooth and reliable access.
Essential Qualifications
A bachelor's degree, in computer science, MIS or related technical
and/or equivalent experience. Thorough knowledge and understanding of
and skills in using the following web authoring software
applications/tools: MS Front Page, Dream weaver, Visual Studio (.net).
The ability to write, analyze, troubleshoot, and de-bug web pages.
Requires a solid understanding in designing site architectures,
user-interfaces, and intuitive navigation. Programming syntax including
HTML, Cascading Style sheets, JavaScript, VB, VB Script, SQL. Database
applications including SQL Server (including stored procedures), MS
Access Microsoft Office Products and Adobe Acrobat. Authentication
processes and FTP cross browser compatibility including IE, Safari, Fire
fox and Netscape, and the ability to develop web pages accordingly.
Ability to perform interactive debugging to test and analyze system
failures. Ability to integrate a variety of web applications. Ability to
participate in multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with
graphics tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Flash.
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, flexibility and
the ability to work on teams and with a variety of people.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in an academic information technology
environment
previous experience working in a library. Familiarity with servers and
services including Microsoft 2000 & 2003 servers, IIS, .net framework,
SSL and their implications for web based applications. Experience with
typical library applications, including OpenURL (Link resolvers), proxy
servers, standards such as Z39.50, etc.
Familiarity with xml, php, "open source".
Special Working Conditions
Position may require means of transportation for travel to other CSU
campuses, Chancellor's Office, and to work on systems teams. Employment
is contingent on satisfactory completion of a fingerprint background
check.
