Hi Doug,
Since we want to suppress order records for our continuations, we use the
receive date for this function, which suppresses the record in our OPAC
and also serves to let us know in which year we would like to order the
book. So, if I did not want to order the book til 2006, I would put
12-31-2006 in the received date field. (We know we won't be doing any
receiving on New Year's Eve). In January, we create a list of all our
standing orders and then we see what we have to do for the coming year.
I also add a note field to say "ANN, cycle 2" (in your example), just like
B&T does, to indicate it is published annually and we will order it every
other year.
Hope that helps.
