Dear IUG,

I have been given the charge to investigate out sourcing of our copy cataloging function for the general library here at Golden Gate University. We are presently looking at Yankee Book Peddler (YBP) as a possible vendor to contract this out to. I would like to get your input as for any pro's and cons of this configuration and the change it will bring to the Technical services department. In addition, from those of you who have worked with YBP, I would like to receive any information you can give me on the following:

Do we need any new load tables for our Innopac in order to import/create bib records from YBP?
Can you get the order record number included in the invoice that is received back from YBP?
How much will YBP charge for copying contents of 050 field onto 090?

Any help will be appreciated. I also plan to attend the Telnet to Millennium program presented next Monday at IUG to learn more about this process.

Thank you.
Hadi
