Hi Alan,
I just got back from one of our branches. I am doing further research on
this, but it appears the Offline Circ software is up-to-date. I uninstalled
Offline Circ and a funny thing happened--uninstalling Offline Circ
completely wiped out most of the regular client files as well, including
everything in the 'jre' folder. I deleted the Millennium folder altogether,
and then reinstalled Offline first and the client second. Now our Offline
Circ works, and it works offline, at least for now.
I also found a known issues entry on CSDIRECT that refers directly to
this--the fix is in for release 2005.

Better late than never
Steve How old is your version of the offline software? We had an
identical problem (with windows xp) which I reported and it was found to
be a software fault. Innovative had to update the software. I think our
problem was when we migrated to Silver and started using offline141, but
it may have been before this.
I know exactly what you mean the offline software worked fine when you
were connected to the network, but would not work when you were
disconnected (rendering it useless and very frustrating)
Hope this helps

Subject: Our Offline Circ is... offline
We have a curious problem that just keeps getting more bizarre. Our
consortium had been experiencing intermittent router problems that would
take down Millennium Circulation for short spans of time, say 2 hours or
so.
When staff at different locations have tried to bring Offline Circ up to
handle transactions, they cannot bring up the application at all or when
they can (setting up preferences, clearing the transaction file) it
freezes up immediately. This behavior is consistent across at least 6
different members of our system, although I cannot replicate it on my
own workstation.
I am this close to opening a call, but I am hoping someone else out
there has had a similar experience. We're running Windows 2000 and most
of these workstations have PIII processors as well as the III version of
the JRE.
Thanks for any help!
