I have used this model magnetic stripe reader before:

http://www.posdirect.com/proddetail.php?prod=MINIMAG

though not purchased from this vendor. It worked well. I used the USB
interface version which I found easier to use than a keyboard wedge version.
This was on an XP Professional OS. It might be worth testing a USB model before
a lot of them just to be sure there are no driver issues, especially if using an older
Operating system.

Subject: Id card readers

Tennessee State University is in the process of implementing Innovative. We need to purchase a machine that will read the stripe on the ID cards. In the venacular, I believe this is called a "swipe machine" . I would appreciate any recommendations you may have for this equipment.
