Cindy,

You need to add specifically "attached printer" as a option to your login name setup. You do this in character-base telnet under Logins.

To add to what others have said, I ran into the same problem at Toledo.
We were short one printer and moved a HP4100 as a local printer for a
computer. I believe it was connected with a parallel connection to the
PC. When that person would print something locally, Millennium would
close in an instant. We were able to print (without problem) to a
system printer. We have also had no problems (with other computers)
printing to a locally defined printer that was networked and not
attached to the PC.

I cannot be 100% confident, but I am pretty sure what fixed it for us
was to use the HP PCL drivers instead of the PS drivers that were loaded
on the PC. I might have it the other way around, but this is something
worth looking at, especially with the HP printers.

Hope this helps. It can be maddening when the simple things give us
fits.

Subject: Printing from Millennium - closes Millennium

Hello,

One of our catalogers is having a strange problem with printing from
Millennium ever since we upgraded to Silver. When he attempts to print
to Standard - Local - then chooses a printer, Millennium just closes.

Other users with identical printing settings in Manager Controlled
options are not having a problem.

This is peculiar to his computer which is running Windows 2000 and he is

able to print from other Windows applications.

Has anyone else come across this behavior - or could anyone point me in
the right direction as to what to consider trying after reloading
Millennium?

Thank you in advance,

-Cindy Reid
