I had this problem since I first was brought up in Silver.
Yesterday my tech guy suggested I go to Java.com and load the updates. 
I did this and it solved the problem.
Everything is working great!

Has anyone ever run into a problem with a new Windows XP 
installation in which the manual gets hung?  It gets bogged down 
attemting to load the index in IE, and the 'search' button just 
generates Javascript errors.

End-tasking the IE program and looking at the system load shows it 
briefly at 100% CPU usage.

The FAQ at CSDirect doesn't appear to apply to XP.

Any assistance appreciated from wise & experienced colleagues
