Re: Image and media management in Millennium
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
We have used Mil Media to attach images for our Local History photo collection. You can see the images at:
http://catalog.tol.lib.ca.us/search/ftlist%5Ebib29,1,0,123
We have had some serious problems with the client failing when we attempt to attach files, especially if the files have any size to them. Lots of out of memory errors, even though we have fast processor speed and plenty of free memory.
I do think that when it works the product is effective, and the appearance in the catalog is pretty good.

We are considering using Millennium Media Management to store and retrieve images and other media such as video and audio clips.
Would anyone be able to share experiences of using this approach - pros and cons and links to any examples? We have a large
digitised slide collection and a few other bits and pieces which are likely to expand in number. We already have Media Management
which we use for documents in e-reserves so we feel we should investigate its suitability before we look at other options.
Thanks for any help,
Anne
